“Creative Kids” Exhibition

After 11 “Children Innovate: Smart and Child Friendly City” summer camps that took place last summer, 22 most creative ideas and models from students were selected to be on display and be voted for awards.

This is also the first time that smart city ideas have been proposed by the students themselves and developed into complete test models for the future.

In 3 months, nearly 300 pupils aged 8-16 in Ho Chi Minh City were taught creative thinking and problem solving skills by teachers from Arkki School of Creative thinking and skills through 5 days of working on a big project: designing and planning a hypothetical area of ​​Thu Thiem - District 2, Ho Chi Minh City based on the criteria of creativity, smartness, child-friendliness and high feasbility. They were able to personally visit Ho Chi Minh City, observe and comment, as well as learn how to develop creativity, teamwork and problem solving skills. They then went onto generate many ideas by themselves to build various smart and novel models for their own city.

Their models will be exhibited at WHISE 2018. The exhibition will show how big the creativity of Vietnamese children can be and the need for children to participate in the design and decision-making process on social matters, especially for issues related to the urban environment in which they live.
